workaround for the broken XFCE keyboard layout switcher panel

I simply put setxkbmap -layout “us,bg(bas_phonetic)” -option “grp:alt_shift_toggle”

or

setxkbmap -layout “us,bg(phonetic)” -option “grp:capslock_toggle”

in my ~/.bashrc and the panel plugin stops forgetting its settings each restart/logoff…

Modify appropriately with your lang codes and switching shortcut keys… To see how – drop me a line at vlad UT velko.org
